The gameplay is smooth and fluid with just enough variety in equipment/perks/etc and general ways to “avenge” to keep it all quite interesting.

I’ve played only one other roguelite dungeon crawler in recent memory that is great in its own right (albeit more expensive) and I was curious how Skeletal Avenger would stack up against that: in short, I’m impressed from the 2-3 hours I’ve played so far. Original: I’ve acquired a few 10tons games lately and this was a day-1 immediate acquisition (and I will likely get it for Xbox too) that I did not hesitate about. Also no cloud saves? 🤔 Still a great game but I won’t be playing on my phone. I can imagine it wouldn’t be any better later when there’s a lot more commotion on screen. It seemed to be worst in areas with a lot of translucent walls. Today I tried playing on my iPhone 11 Pro Max with default settings also using a controller and there were times of considerable frame rate drops. This game runs rather fine on my old iPad Pro. It is weird in that the gameplay of Skeletal Avenger is quite challenging, but it is also very satisfying and once you get it down, it becomes very addictive.Edit: updated to remove one star for a 4/5. It is very easy to unleash these awesome combos where you just go from enemy to enemy dishing out a beating. You can move at a very quick pace and you can also use this dash move too. What may surprise you is just how quick-paced the action is. I already talked about how this was a kind of hack and slash style of game in terms of the gameplay. As you would expect, the more you play the better gear and upgrades you will gain access to.

You can find items on your travels and you can also buy stuff too with the currency that you earn as you make your way through each area.

Gear Is The Way To Go!Īs Skeletal Avenger is a roguelite style of game, you will be getting a ton of gear as you progress through the game. Depending on the hat he is wearing, throwing his head will do a different kind of attack. What is cool about the character you play as is that he can use his head as a weapon. You will be hacking and slashing your way through a ton of enemies. So far, we have a dungeon and a sewer setting. Anyway, you play as this skeleton and each round you need to make your way through one of two biomes. As I write this, please note that what I am talking about here is the early access build of the game and more stuff is penciled in to be added.
